Learning Observed
Today I supported the iActive leaders with a water course that Ayod and his team were participating in. The Learners were split into two teams (mixed year groups) and then completed the activity as a relay. They were required to fill their cup with water, then run to the other end, fill the bucket and pass the cup to the next person on their team.
Evidence of learning
Ayod was eager to get as much water in his cup as possible then tried really hard to keep the water in the cup while he walked and ran to the other end. He then waited patiently in line for his next turn.
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Ayod is developing his capabilities in iActive (physical education). He was able to follow a set of instructions and connected with others to work together as a team (Relating to Others). Ayod quietly waited for his turn and used the equipment appropriately (Participating and Contributing).

Learning Observed
Today after reading a book about Piranhas, Ayod and some other learners decided they would like to do some more research and find more out about them. We watched videos about Piranhas and how sharp their teeth are and had a look at some books on Piranhas. After modelling a story together, Ayod then wrote a story about what he had learnt about Piranhas. Ayod wrote: “Piranhas haVe sharP teeth”, all by himself.
Evidence of learning
Ayod learnt that Piranhas have sharp teeth. Ask Ayod just how sharp they are!
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Ayod was developing his curiosity about Piranhas and other sea creatures, whilst also developing his capabilities in writing. He was able to write his story by himself, without any learning coach assistance (Managing Self). Ayod was able to write his own story, starting with a capital letter and ending with a full stop (Using language, symbols and text). He was able to think about and share his ideas about what he would like to write (Participating and Contributing).
