In Reading the Orange group have been learning to think carefully from the author’s point of view and use the text to support his answers to questions.
Ayod shows curiosity by listening carefully during discussions to questions asked and to feedback given to improve his understanding. He is being collaborative by working with other learners around him and sharing his ideas. Ayod is beginning to show capability by using the text to help support his answers. Ayod is beginning to make connections with the texts he reads with his outside world.

During iDevelop Maths, learners were learning about ordering the days of the week correctly. They also learned about what days came before and after. Ayod worked collaboratively with Matthew and Nicholas on their task using a chromebook. Ayod showed capability by making a copy of his activity and working on it with his buddies. He was curious and was able to listen to others share their ideas. Ayod was able to make connections with his prior learning and what he already knew about Time.

iDevelop: Maths

Number strategies
Use simple additive strategies with whole numbers and fractions.
Number knowledge
Know forward and backward counting sequences with whole numbers to at least 1000.
Know the basic addition and subtraction facts.
Know how many ones, tens, and hundreds are in whole numbers to at least 1000.
Learning Observed:
In maths we have been learning to add and subtract tens and ones. The group are given word problems to solve with tens and ones. Ayod is able to solve these problems using our laminated template and a whiteboard marker. He can identify the numbers in the tens and the numbers in the ones columns. There is no crossing over of tens in these equations. Learners should know their basic facts to 10 to help them. Ayod worked through these problems.
Key Competencies/ Vision Principles:
Ayod was curious at first about how to work these out. He showed capability but solving these problems in his maths book. Ayod shows how he is connected by actively taking part in learning conversations and activities. He is also collaborative by working with others and sharing his learning with the group.
